NJScooterGal (7/11/2008) ....it's called a cool water enema. (sigh) I will let others have as much fun with this as they care to. Hopefully, they will have a better grasp of language than myself and can come up with a decent in-you-end-doe. Fran that was good but the whole thing was a set-up by ScooterGal. Wait for a challenge, that whole thing was just too easy. You know she keeps checking out this thread to see if anybody has commented. And if we do we play right into her hand and she gets exactly what she wants. You think she saw this?

| Mine would either be a device that controls the weather so it would always be nice to go for a ride, or a gizmo that makes ALL gas station prices drop 75% when I pull up. Other than that I am pretty happy with things.

Welcome to the forum Tamarack. I like your tag line. It really speaks to a tree hugger like me. I had CFLs when they cost more than the lamp did.

ibafran (7/11/2008)[hr... I would like to try something on the order of a race car drivers cool suit. Ideally, it would be part of my stich. It would plug into a jug of ice water and be circulated by a very small pump like one might find running a garden water feature. The cooling effect should last at least as long as a tank of fuel. It doesnt have to be thermostaticly controled. A simple rider accessable on/off switch ought to be enough. Getting the piping right to properly cool a body might mimic the layout of the race car driver's setup with slight mods as befitting a bike. Two designs might be available; one for naked bikes and one for bikes with wind protection. And wouldnt it be nice if there was a plug for the system to access the bikes coolant to get heat in the winter? Thus, I might be able to get rid of the electric clothes.... Well! Waddayaknow!? "Ask and you shall receive." August 08 product review: Veskimo Personal Cooling System www.veskimo.com Questions not addressed: -Do the loops cool the torso in the right areas without creating wide variences? ( I can hear the jokes now. "I put it on backwards and can cut diamonds with certain chest tissue.") -How many Jon-I-Handwarmers does it take and how many turns in the coil around them to make the thing provide heat to keep a biker warm on a naked bike at 60mph in 0 degrees F? $350 seems a bit spendy if it isnt being worn often? I intend to visit the website. (EDIT: The website says that it is temporarily sold out. Already? Who knew?!) Maybe I can build a penny tech version out of an old road workers safety vest, 50' of tubing, and a remote water jug. All of a sudden, a very small beverage cooler has wider possibilities. And drive-thru burger joints that can top up the ice reservoir will look good. I can see the IBA riders timing the 'ice' stop as well as the 'fuel' stop. And building auxilary ice capacity for long hot rallies. What do you want to bet that more than one IBR participant will have something like this next year?
nobody rides half as well as they know how.
