Are all injector cleaner products the same? I am having some hot start issues with my BMW and want to start with an injector cleaner but am not sure if I should purchase BMW's or generic?

Thoughts?

I read an article in a magazine (can not remember which one). It said that Chevron gas helps to clean injectors. Might help to also run a few tanks of it.

I've had some good luck with Chevron's Techron in some carbureted bikes that had set too long without running. Here, it's available at Wal-Mart.

We use Berryman's B12 Chemtool. It seems to work well. We also recommend that you run it though (use the entire tank) as quickly as possible. That some rubber and plastic pieces do not like strong chemicals for extended periods of time.

The active chemical in Techron is the same as in the BMW private label stuff.  It's also the same thing as BG 44K, but not as concentrated.  Works extremely well in carbuerated bikes even though sold specifically as an injector cleaner.
