out on tour a few weeks back I hit some particulary
nasty patches of bugs at times, way more than the service
station wipe down or even bug remover sprays could handle.
At one point I decided to try filling the little plastic trash can the
motel always has by the sink with hot water and wiping it down with
a face cloth. Presto! Worked better than anything I had ever
tried-the hotter the better. No soap, no scrubbing, just good old
hot water and plenty of it. An if you took the time to rinse said
towel before putting it back, none the worse for wear. It started to become part of the early morning routeen and is also and excellent way to give the bike a once over before heading out on the road.
If you haven't tried it while traveling, give it a shot. It's handy and it works.

| I was told it is sacralistic to do that to a BMW. The more different colors / shades of dirt you can collect on a Bemmer the better.

dont use the service station windshield "wands" to clean your bike shield? Those are pretty harsh on the lexan surface. When on the road keep a wet rag handy (bungee to back of tour pack). Soak the rag and lay over windshield for 10 minutes then use some plexus, some also use old newspaper soaked down. Softens up them hard bugs so they dont scratch surface.

| A small spray bottle of hydrogen peroxide (3% solution) available at your corner drug store works wonders on the bugs. Seems it dissolves the bug's body which is mostly protein easily. Only in severe situations is a second application necessary. I've been using it for years with NO problems on plastic windshields or body parts. Ray Nielsen, in Minneapolis and sitting out the rain.

| I am looking to put together a motorcycle detailing gift "bucket" for my son as a gift for his new motorcycle. I've heard many good things about Plexus from various people. Some swear buy it and wouldn't use anything else. When I was at our local Honda dealer, they of course swear by "Honda Cleaning Spray" for all routine cleaning of helmets, any tupperware, etc.. I also stopped by the local Suzuki/Kawasaki dealer to see what they had to say...Of course, they never mentioned Plexus, just their brand of spray.. Stopped by Pep Boys, same thing...their brand of cleaner..I was smart enough to bring along my reading specs to read the small print on the cans, but each one had a different type of "active ingredients". We do use Plexus on our Clearview Windshields and are happy with the results, but what about the chrome and other parts. I do know one goofy guy who works at our local Home Depot. He swore he knows everything and he used Armor All on his seat and he flew off the seat into a telephone company junction box. He now has pins in his back and hips. I'm not that mentally challenged!!!! So, bring on the suggestions..I'm sure the dealers or stores push their line of products, but is there much difference??? An all around excellent cleaner for the road?? Does anyone recommend old white t-shirts with no graphics or cloth diapers?? Shammies?? Thanks.. NJScooterGal
