Dang it, I knew I shouldn't have told Phil I liked the Civil War era! Phil, if you decide to build a ghost town biker hang out, I'm changing my e-mail address... In all seriousness, this does sound like a heck of a lot of fun. Torque, I am sure we can find you a Motel Six somewhere...and you know what, I'll even call ahead so they leave the light on for ya. Lisa, We happen to have a ghost town just north of ALB that is an old mining town called Madrid. It was taken over by hippies in the late 60's and now flourishes as a tourist trap. Wild Hogs was filmed there and it has a smokin bar for you HD folks. It even has a playhouse in which they do melodrama and is generally a good place to part with your money in a fun way.
Are camping cabins adequate, I understand about the tent?
When do leaves change in Maine or for that matter PA? It has been so long since I was up there I can't remember. I was thinking mid September.
We will be heading for the Blue Ridge after we meet. I have not been to Deals Gap since 03.

| We do not mind tent camping. Doesn't bother me a bit as long as we can take a shower daily, tenting it is fine with us. More of an adventure that way. As of late, with all the homicides, I hear that around 2300 hours, Philadelphia is getting to be quite the ghost town also. The leaves probably change earlier in Maine since it gets colder earlier. Around the NE section of PA, it really depends on the weather. Last year, they didn't see full color until Mid-October and it sure was pretty. We rode down the Lehigh-Valley Rail Trail on our bicycles for the full 30 miles along the Lehigh River and it was downright awesome! Great way to spend the day with the kids.

I am going to research campgrounds/motels in the area and then put them out there for our review. Doing this in the Fall will be awesome. A great campfire, some beer and real people, what more could one ask for?

If y'all can stand a HD riding truck driver, I would love to join in the fun. Tent camping would be great by me, altho I would have to admit I'm quite rusty at it and showers are a must. The time of the year would definitely be a plus for me to be able to get the time away from the grind. There must also be some other Civil War battlefields nearby to visit, I'm kinda a history geek and I've wanted to visit Gettysburg for a long time.

| I was one of 'dem 'dere people who bugged out on the trip to Lancaster earlier this year. Some unusual work related issues came up that I could not get out of. I cannot see a reason now as to why I would not be able to make it out there. A friend of mine lives in Akron which is maybe 45 minutes east of there and he would probably join us. He actually got married last week in an old ghost town in the Black Hills during the Sturgis Rally - Mystic, SD. AWESOME TRIP!!! There are Civil War sites south of Gettysburg - Antietam being the closest and just south of Hagerstown, Maryland. They celebrate the anniversary of the battle every year in mid-September with re-enactors doing a mock battle and alot of period type activities going on downtown.

Hey Lisa, ever hear of Greek Fire that was used by the South in their attack on a town in Vermont? Far Out man!
I still have not done the promised research for hotels and campgrounds. I figure we will have it together by 9/08.
This could be an awesome gathering of some of the most brilliant minds with the most illustrious moto resume's known to man/woman kind. Even Rootie can attend!
