I'm gonna do something that I normally don't do. I'm gonna recommend a company that I recently learned about on the GoldWing GL1800 site. Up until recently I wore Wally world reading glasses. Lately at night I had noticed a little decrease in my vision so I decided it might be a good idea to visit a real eye Dr. He prescribed some weak glasses for distance and no line bifocals with my favorite Wally world reading lenses. I went to get that prescription filled at the local mall optical place (I tried several) and was in for a real shock. For frames, lenses, no-line bifocals in the kind that change from dark to light they wanted over $400 and thats not Rubles or Pesos, its real-live American cash. I remembered the recommendation on the Wing site of the optical place so came home and copied my prescription on the order and it came to $92 including shipping and I ordered the kind that change dark to light, the no-line bifocal and the fancy titanium frames that will bounce back into shape when my wife whacks me with the frying pan. I figured I would be lucky if I ever saw anything for my money. It wasn't as fast as the mall but two weeks later my order arrived in a hard case with a fancy wiping cloth and I'm surprised at how much is out there that I can now see. Of course a lot of what I'm seeing I wish I didn't but I want to recommend them to you because if you wear spectacles this can save you some money and you can cut me in for a commission or buy a lot more beer.

| Funny thing about aging...one of the few good things for us "near-sighted" guys....as we age, the eyeball physically changes shape...I used to NOT be able to see the TV screen...but could read almost microscopic print. In the past 10-15 years or so...my Rx changes have been somewhat dramatic. I can now see 'forever" but can't read damn near anything without glasses. I've even had the "eyeglasses required" ammendment taken off my drivers' license. I CAN SEE!!!!!!!!! Anyway, for the past 2 years, I don't have to burden myself any longer with the 200-300 dollar bifocals. Just go to the "dollar store" and pickup a couple of 2.0 $1 reading glasses.

Well, my eyesight has remained 100% perfect. That's a lot more than I can say for the guy who designs the road signs at the Dept. of Transportation. He has changed all the letters to a much too small size.
Now, let me get this right - is it one down, four up?

| I find that eye sight relates to riding a motorcycle. I have a weak left eye 20/200, corrected only to 20/50 with glasses. The right eye corrects to 20/25 with glasses. I noticed quite a few years ago that I wasn't as comfortable going around a left handed curve compared to the other way. I asked the eye Dr. about that and he said it''s normal given my condition. I can partially compensate by turning my head more to let the good eye see more into the curve. Still, it's not a complete cure for the condition and I feel it compromises my riding abilities. Any comments? Have you noticed any similarities yourself? Ray Nielsen, in Minneapolis and sitting out winter right now.

| Hey OHG - when you say "no-line bifocals", are you talking about progressive lenses?

At 70 years of age, I too can see "forever" but cannot read anything. I discovered the dollar store reading glasses several years ago and now keep lots of them around. Only bad thing is I now require the +350 and have to use a magnifing glass on maps, etc.
