We are on the road for a short trip to Cumberland area of KY. Checking out some of the history in this area. Anyway I noticed the old front tire did not feel right. Luck there was a gas station close by. Sure enough pressure was low.

After filling the tire back up and not seeing any obvious issues I was pointed to the closest motorcycle dealership. It was a Harley dealership. I went in and explained my problem to the service manager. I got the "sorry we don't do Hondas." Come on man it is a tire not something complicated like the FI that you guys are still learning about (Ok I was getting a little pi$$ed.) He did let me use the phone to call the local Honda dealer. Gee thanks for all the help.

Anyway luck was on my side as Florance Honda was just down the road. The service manager looked at it himself and quickly found the valve stem was defective. Well good that is all it was. Probably beyond the ability of the HD dealership anyway. (Ok maybe I am still a little POed at the Harley guy.) They said they would work it in and it would take one hour to an hour and a half before it was ready since it was around lunch time. They pointed us to a restaurant across the street and we went off to eat. Being the quick eaters we are we were back in half an hour and they had it done. They said they could tell we were in a hurry to get going.

So thank you Honda of Florance KY aka Florance Ya'all for those who have seen the water tower.

You'd think any dealer would be happy to make a good impression on a possible future customer. Those bad impressions don't do much for future business, and people who are dissappointed by dealers frequently talk about it too. I don't understand that attitude - Is that what they mean when they say "If you have to ask you wouldn't undertand"?

Torque, glad they got you going and one more story that solidifies my change back to a Wing.  While we are singing the praises of Honda I'll add that last week I traded my Mazda MX-5 for a new Civic Hybrid.  What a great car.  Just one problem:  I used to tell Michelle Smith (my wife of American Thunder and the twins) "We need to take the Wing and save some gas."  Now she says "Lets take the Civic Hybrid and save some gas instead of the Wing."

Oh where - Oh where is SRG with his rebuttal???

Glad to hear about the plug for that Honda dealer Torque.  I don't understand the animosity between H-D and the metric bikes.  OHG/OWG - who is Michelle Smith and American Thunder?

IMHO the animosity between H-D and metrics comes from a childhood feeling of inferiority on the part of some with an adult desire to correct what was lacking in their life.  Also their desire for others to think they are "baaad."  The latter have been riding bikes long enough to realize true feelings of individuality does not come from conformity to any brand, mode of dress, permanent ink upon ones body or conformity of behavior.  And once again as they see others that have achieved the true non-conformity they so sadly lack they express those feelings of inferiority in the only primal way they know and that is thru agression.  And as the latter laughs at them they once again are reduced to that child that felt inferior.  And the reference to Michelle Smith also comes from a childhood infatuation with "larger than life" appendages that certainly enhance the femine mystique and put in simpler terms its basically the big ta-tas.  Lucy told me with inflation the charge now for that is the price of a new Zumo so ante up to:

Hhhhhhhmmmmmmm...................well said.

Speaking of inferiority reminds me of my niece's boyfriend who still lives with parents at the age of 38, but who must "impress" everyone with his BS.  Like the time he asked me the fastest speed I've had my CBR up to.  When I told him somewhere around 160 mph (thank god no cops around Modette!) and he replies "Yeah - I had an old V-65 Sabre up to that speed." And, I'm thinking "Dude, I know that thing topped out at maybe 135 - 140 going downhill with the wind."  But, I didn't say anything................
