| I have a 1986 Aspencade that I need to replace the handlebar grips. The ones on the bike now are of a foam material with worn areas. It looks like these are glued on. How do I remove the old ones / and install the new ones. Thanks

I use a Razor blade knife. Cut the length of the grip, Then take needle nose pliers and started to pull up on an edge, Once one corner comes up they should came right off.

| Gfurlo's technique works well unless you are trying to salvage the grip to use on an old hammer handle or something. To save the grips: If the bars are tubular with holes only at each end. Cut a small hole in the end of one grip. Insert the blow gun nozzle from your air compressor and pull the trigger. This one one of those things that is very easy to demonstrate but impossible to write instructions for. If you can get on of the grips off with the inflation method. You should be able to figure how to get the other grip off by applying the same principle. To install new grips: You can use the supplied glue if any. OR Spritz/spray the inside of the grip with a women's hairspray or with leftover rattle can paint. Push the grip onto the bar end. The sprays dry quickly and work just as well as the grip adhesive. But you can get the grips off easier at a later date if you need to.
nobody rides half as well as they know how.

| I've never had to use any supplied glue....or ANY glue, for that matter. I just cut the old ones off and put the new ones on. Sometimes I have to use a mallet to get one or both on all the way...but that's it.
