| Hello, I was using a microfiber towel to dry off the paint and chrome on my motorcycle. The exhaust was still hot when I barely grazed it with the towel while trying to pick up a few wet spots close to the pipe. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what might work to remove the microfiber cloth residue from the chrome? Thank you for your time! Charlie

| I'm not sure what kind of plastic a micro fiber towel is, but I've had good luck with Easy-Off Cold Oven cleaner. Spray it on, being careful where it goes and wait a few minutes before wiping it off. Acetone has worked well too. Be careful of the fumes, lest you get light headed, but it is effective. MEK (metyl-ethyl-ketone) should work too, I think it's a major ingredient in fingernail polish remover. Hope that helps a bit. Ray Nielsen, in Minneapolis and went for a ride today, it warmed up to 45 degrees!

A suggestion when using “Easy-Off” cold formula; Spray the Easy-Off into a plastic container away from the bike, out in the drive way. Then use a small paint brush to apply it to the muffler. That way you will not get it on the paint or aluminum. The easy off will stain/mar both paint and aluminum. Be careful and patient, it works.

And dont try to scrape any of it off with steel wool or a razor blade. Follow the directions on the product. If you absolutely must scrape it with something, dont use anything more sophisticated than a popsicle stick.
nobody rides half as well as they know how.

| rnielson: Careful with that MEK! It is listed as being carsenogenic----don't get any on ya! I have used a ball of aluminimum foil as a scrubber and not scratched chrome...
